Hanging Bridge

Hanging Bridge is in Kemmanu of Udupi District. This Bridge is named as Deepak. it was built in the year 1991. It connect two small villages named Honapakudru and Padukudru. This is build with Iron rods and concrete Tiles. Its shakes when we walk on it, so it is called as hanging Bridge. People use small boats for fishing in the river as well as to move from one place to another. The occupation of the people here are agriculture and fishing.
I usually visit this place with my friends and i purposely shake the bridge. My friends are fear when i do that. Its fun.
When you visit this place don't forget to take your camera. If you for get you will miss something which is very good. have a look at these picture

Kodi or Delta beach

Kodi or Delta beach is very famous beach of Udupi district. It is a point were Suvarna river and Bengre beach. The other side of the beach is Hangarkatta a Place near Bramhavar. We can see Hangarkatta port on the other side. People use small boats for fishing and moving from one place to another. If they go by road it will take more than an hour so they prefer waterways. On the way to this place we can find many small Island and temples which are also called bajana mandira.
It is beautiful but playing in water is very dangerous. We can visit this place for the wonderful view. We can see small crabs playing and clicking pictures of those scenes give you awesome feeling.  And the important thing to note if your are crazy about photography, then this place is must visit. The students of different colleges visit here, with their friends and pose for the photographs. Enjoy visiting the places and i will keep you updated with different place in and around Udupi District.

 This is only of the beautiful beach i have been to. This beach was developed in recent years by the local people. There are few private guest house near by the beach. It is not so popular. But local people prefer to visit this beach because this beach is not so crowed.
Me and my friends were finding for nice places to hang out and play that time we found this place. Now this had become our favorite spot. And i insist you to visit this place and enjoy the beauty of this place. You can see the view of St. Marry's Island.

Mattu Beach

Mattu is 11.6 kilometers from Udupi. It is popular for its Brinjal. Mattu is a very wonderful place accompanied by Padukere Beach. There are many private guest houses near by. From this  we can see the view of Kaup beach from the left and Padukere Beach from Right side. The view is worth watching. First expression of every visits the place is "Wow!!!". The pictures you click there comes out well.

This place is well known for the Brinjal grown there. TAPMI as done a research in this field and because of this it became world famous. When we go to the beach we can see the Brinjal field.
The specialty of this is, we can see the crabs playing. The occupation of the people in this place is, farming and fishing. People go for fishing using small boats.

Padukere


Padukere is a Peninsular Island. Peninsular means a piece of land that is almost entirely surrounded by water and is attached to a larger land area. One side of the Island has beach the other side river and in the northern part the river and sea meets each other. It is a place near by Malpe. we should go by a boat to reach this Island or we can go to a place called Kadpadi which connects the island with a bridge. this Island is populated with around 5000 people.

This is a very beautiful place. but many of the visitors don't know this. We can see many small Island from this place. The main occupation of the people here is fishing. This is one of the creations of Parashurama. so there is a belief of the people here is that, if is Island drown in water the whole world will drown. Scientific reasons is this place is very high from the sea level.
The people here face many problems like drinking water, transportation and soil erosion during rainy season.

This is one of the must visit place when you visit Malpe. This Island has many Bajana Mandir, where the people go and sing devotional songs. There is a famous temple named Shanishwara Temple in this Island. This temple also celebrates its Fest every year.

St. Mary's Island

St. Mary's Island is also called as Thonse Paar. It is known for its exclusive geographical feature. it contains volcanic rocks and vertical & hexagonal rocks. It is surrounded with coconut trees. One of the Portugal saint named it as St. Mary's Island. It is the only volcanic rock island in India. The geographical formation of columnar basaltic lava rocks and sub aerial sub-volcanic rocks are the highlight of the island. It is recognized by the geographical monuments of Karnataka and India. It attracts many people around the world. The tourist go to the Island with the help of boats.They can go from the Malpe Port or from the beach shore. The tourist can enjoy the water sports in the shore. The tourist are allowed to stay in the Island between 9 AM - 5.30 PM. The people enjoy in the island and take lots of picture. Most of the tourist who visit Malpe Beach visit this Island.

Malpe beach is 6.7 kilometers from Udupi. It is beautiful beach where thousands of tourists visit every year . It is also called as Virgin Beach. It is the beach where river Uyavaar meets the sea. It is a part of Arabian sea. Every year there is a beach festival conducted by the local people and government. when we stand near the shore we can find Daria Bhadurga in the Northern West, Kari Illada Kallu in the Southern, Daria-Gadara-Kaltuthe in between north and south and St. Marry's Island. The beach is near by the Malpe Harbour and Tebma Shipping Yard. The people near my relay on fishing. There are many resorts near the beach such as Paradise, Thonse and soon. The tourist enjoy the camel ride and different water sports when they visit the beach. There are many temples near by the beach. During Ganesh Chaturthi the statue of Lord Ganesh is immersed here.
The beach is associated with the temple called Vadamandeshwara. in the time of Yellu Amavase (during December- January) there will be temple fest. It is the believe of the people that, if they have a bath in the beach on this day they will be saved from skin diseases. So on this day the beach will be crowed with local people.
The beach is known for its beauty and it attracts people all over the world.

Kodavoor

Before i go to any other place i would like to describe few places near me. That is near the place i stay. "KODAVOOR" is the name of the place where i stay. It is 5.3 kilometers way from Udupi, Karnataka. Kodavoor is a small town belonging to temple city, Udupi.
 
 It is the home town of lord Shankaranarayana. The Legend, Kroda Muni had this Ashrama in this place so it was known as Kodashrama, later it was converted called as Kodavoor. This is one of the Holi places which was created by Parashurama. The Saint Kroda did thapasu for saving the people from the evils. There was Udbava linga of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. they are also popularly known as Lord Shankara and Lord Narayana. So the famous temple in Kodavoor is known as "Shree Shankaranarayana Temple". The place is popular because of this temple. The temple is also known as Kodavoor Temple by the local people. 
There was revation don in the temple in the year 2013-14. There was Bramhakalashosav done by the temple in March-2014 on the occasion of renovation.
Kodavoor is a residential area with the paddy fields. The people speak Tulu, Kannada and Konkani in these area. The area is surrounded by coconut trees. The people use roadways to reach Kodavoor. People of different religion stay here. They celebrate all the festivals.
There are two main festivals celebrated in the Gram and are  Mari and Ratha utsav (chariot).Mari means worshiping Goddess Mariamma. Mari will be celebrated twice in the year. the dates of Mari are decided by the Temple commitee. And Ratha Utsav is celebrated by the temple once in a year. Here the Utsav Murty (idol of god) is kept is the Chariot and the Chariot is pulled by the people. It takes a round near the temple.
The lifestyle is of the people are normal.
